OpenSource Alternatives to MS Office

Ever you wanted to move out from MS Office, by one or other reason? Here are some free and high quality alternatives to MS Office:

OpenOffice is one of the most well-known office software suites. It is currently available in 110 languages , and can run on a system with lower specs, making it perfect for netbooks and older computers. It also works on most operating systems.  OpenOffice 3 includes the Write word processor, the Calc spreadsheet, the Impress presentation creator, the Base database program, and the Draw graphics application. Its  templates are quite similar to MS Office.

Google Docs Google Docs is a very basic answer to Microsoft Office. It has only the bare essentials of an office suite. It features a Web-based word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, form, and data storage service offered by Google.

Zoho Docs is a Web service that lets you do almost anything online that you can do on a desktop computer — from creating documents to building a spreadsheet to managing a database, plus conferencing, project management, chatting and a dozen other functions.

ThinkFree Office Online - has three main components — Write (a word processor), Calc (a spreadsheet), and Show (a presentation software). It has two modes of operation when you open a file and see a preview  screen with a quick edit mode.
