MindHelix Technologies , a kerala based young IT company has unveiled auto fare calculator mobile application named TukTuk Meter.It is a GPS-based multi-platform auto fare calculator app that runs on smartphones having Android 2.1 (Eclair), 2.2 (Froyo ), BlackBerry (OS v4.5,v4.6,v4.7, v5.0); Symbian s60v3 phones with GPS and other smartphones with GPS and Java connectivity.

 This application has got immense media attention, and many of them claims that TukTuk Meter is India’s first mobile app for calculating Autofares using GPS. But Actually this is not the truth. Early in this year three bangalore based techies developed a software application for GPS-enabled mobile phones that can detect if an auto driver is overcharging or taking a wrong route, and its known as SURUK!

but even if we are having meters which shows correct rate, auto driver will argue for more. How many of us will fight for it….?only few. People are ready to give what ever they are asking for.
Today i came to that from karyavattom campus to Technopark (tejaswini bldn) its 30 rs. Its hardly 1 km. Meter rate will cum around max of 15 rs.
State government has provided the following numbers to register the auto rickshaw complaints.

The complaints can be given for over charging(especially on prepaid autos), using bad words, not coming for a ride etc.
What you have to do is note down the number of the auto rickshaw. The complaint through phone will be registered and the auto rickshaw waala will be warned. If more than one complaint against the same auto rickshaw is registered the autorickshaw will be taken into custody.
You will be called for identifying the person. Again the police department guarantees there won’t be any harm to you.
Unless otherwise you raise your voice you cannot expect for a better living place. And also donot misuse this as there a lot of auto ricksaw waalas who are very honest and sincere. After all we all do agree this group of people has indeed helped us in many difficult situations.
yes really I am agreeing this. Everybody ready to give which they are asking. From techno park main gate to Tejaswini they are asking Rs.30/-. We have to compliant to authority and fix the auto rate to major points to Techno park. I think we can compliant to Traffic Police and suggest them to place a fair board on the campus
