Technopark based ARS Software Engineering to foray into the Indian Market with Intelligent Transportation Systems

Technopark based ARS Software Engineering, the subsidiary of the Netherlands headquartered ARS Traffic and Transport Technology BV today announced that it will be foraying into the Indian Transportation and Logistics Industry with their Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions. ARS Software Engineering provides Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), services and solutions and their clients include the major traffic and transport related organizations in Europe, both public and private, both road and rail related.

Intelligent Transport System refers to the efforts to add information and communications technology to the transport infrastructure with application in basic management systems such as car navigation, traffic signal control systems, container management systems, variable message signs, automatic number plate recognition, speed cameras to more advance applications that integrate live data and feedback from a number of other sources such as parking guidance and information systems, weather information, etc.

ARS Software Engineering has completed 10 years of operations in Technopark and has been providing ITS services and solutions for the European customers of their parent company. “In the last 10 years we have established our presence in India and now we feel it is time to enter into the Indian market especially with the huge infrastructural development taking place across the country.” Said Jan H Linssen, CEO of ARS Software Engineering. 
“The global market for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is expected to reach US $ 18.5 billion by 2015 and the Indian market is expected to reach US $0.5 billion by 2015.  India is a green market for us and we see huge opportunity for our solutions here and are already in the last stages of some strategic deals.” He added.

The company is also planning to expand its employee base with the growing business not just from India but also from the global markets. “We have some huge projects in the pipeline and therefore we are also looking at increasing our headcount. Today the Indian subsidiary is a 100-member strong team and we hope to reach 250 employees by the end of 2013.” Said Sunil S Kumar, Operational Director at ARS Software Engineering.

The client base of ARS includes industries, service providers and authorities, such as Shell; European Space Agency; Dutch Ministry of Transport; KPN; EDS; Dutch National Railways; Philips; Province of North Brabant, Netherlands; National Data Warehouse, Netherlands, Finnish Road Authority, Finland. The projects include adhoc consultancy studies to major turnkey projects.
