Talking Hands – International Day of People with Disability

Technoparktoday.com>> The International Day of People with Disability was observed by ‘A Talking Hands – Creating Conversations’ on 3rd December ‘15 in Bhavani, Technopark, to promote awareness and mobilize support for critical issues relating to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society and development.

The program started with a melodious keyboard recitation by Mr. Prashanth Chandran – who is a differently-abled teenager having extra-ordinary talents in Music and exceptional skills with numbers and video games. Currently, he is being selected for the “India has got Talent” reality show in Colors Channel.

The Executive Director of NISH(National Institute of Speech & Hearing) Mr. Samuel N Mathew, Mr.Bharath Sampath(Area Manager – Maruti Suzuki India Ltd) and Mr Biju(Indus Motors SSM) were the Chief Guest’s for the event. Mrs Annie Moses(Employee, Technopark) conveyed the message to the crowd on behalf of Technopark CEO Shri Girish Babu.

The event was filled with visual awareness programs including videos, banners & posters.
Mono-Act, Mime & Group Dances were performed by Employees of Technopark Companies and students of NISH.
In addition, a session on basic Sign Language was taken for Techies during the event. Indus Motors(Maruti Suzuki) conducted Lucky draw and distributed prizes to the Winners.

The program was conducted by the deaf employees working in different companies in Technopark. Talking Hands – Creating Conversations has planned to build more awareness, educate the public about the Deaf, their culture and about their language .
