Prakruthi ‘Kuttikrishi’ – Started Grow Bag Distribution to Govt Schools

TechnoparkToday.com>> Prakruthi – a voluntary group of techies working towards Green Thoughts and Green Living, kick started the program ‘Kuttikrishi’ in Govt Schools. As the first step, the team distributed grow bags and seedlings to Govt Higher Secondary School, Kazhakootam on the World Environment Day (5th June 2016).

As of now, 2 percent of the techies have turned up cultivating organic vegetables through the seedlings provided by Prakuthi. Now the Kuttikrishi has come up which intends to promote organic farming in schools, thus providing a basic knowledge about farming to students. In this academic year, the team has planned to extend support to 15 – 20 schools.

Each School will be provided with 50 grow bags along with seedlings. Prakruthi will also provide support on Drip Irrigation, garden house and other basic amenities. A training session on Organic Farming by CISSA(Center for Innovation in Science and Social Action) will be conducted for the school kids and staff. The seedlings are distributed from Kazhakootam Coconut Nursery.

Students, School Staff, Police officials, Student Police Cadets(SPC) were part of the first Grow Bag distribution event.

Kuttikrishi is also supported by Natana – the cultural club of Technopark, Tejus – Blood Donation Forum, Prathidhwani – the socio-cultural organization of Technopark Employees and TechnoparkToday.com – Media Partner.
