Mayor Intervenes to Solve Traffic issues at Kazhakuttom

TechnoparkToday.com>>  Corporation Mayor Sri. V. K. Prasanth has initiated steps to reduce the traffic chaos at Kazhakkuttam junction and adjoining areas.  The area has become a major traffic hazard for vehicles as well as pedestrians due to heavy on street parking.

A joint visit of the area was undertaken by the Mayor with Dr. B. G. Sreedevi, Director, NATPAC and Sri. T. Ramakrishnan and Sri B. Anish Kini, Officers of NATPAC.  The team visited the roads leading to Market Jn from the NH on both ends, narrow stretch of High School road near the Market road junction, the conflict points at the NH near AJ Hospital Jn and Kazhakkuttam-Menamkulam road.

The Mayor explained the traffic snarls experienced on the NH  near the bus stops where long distance buses are stopped for boarding/ alighting of passengers. The Director, NATPAC remarked that based on detailed investigation of the study area, NATPAC will be giving short term proposals within a fortnight which would include parking strategies, one way regulation and other regulatory measures which are to be implemented immediately to iron out the traffic problems.  The visualized traffic pattern on this stretch after completion of the proposed flyover at Kazhakkoottam Bypass Jn and four lane widening of the NH will also be looked into while formulating the proposals. Apart from this, regarding the   traffic conflicts on the entry to the Technopark near Karyavattam which was pointed out by the Mayor, NATPAC Director agreed to study the problems and propose appropriate traffic management measures.
