Kannur IT Park to be Opened on January 15

Inaugurating the first phase of Cherthala Infopark, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said that the State had recorded the fastest growth in the IT sector in the country over the last four and a half years, with the number of IT parks growing to ten from two, and the software exports from Kerala rocketing to Rs.3,200 crore this fiscal year from Rs.630 crore in 2006. The work on the Infopark at Ambalappuzha will commence soon.

With the Infopark, Cherthala would soon develop as a satellite city of Kochi. In South Kerala TechnoparkThiruvananthapuram had seen completion of three phases. Work on the fourth phase of Technopark, titled Technocity, would shortly commence on 428 acres acquired recently.

In North Kerala, work on Kozhikode Cyber City as well as the IT Park at Cheemeni in Kasaragod is progressing. The CM also said that IT Park at Eramam in Kannur would be opened on January 15, 2011.
