TechnoparkToday.com>> May 23, 2014: After stopping cash on delivery order shipments to Kerala, major e-commerce portals stopped sending items to main cities of Kerala. A move that surprised online buyers, most e-commerce portals notified that they stopped shipping items to Kerala. The reason behind the move was allegedly some tussle with the sales tax department.
Online sellers got messages from major e-commerce portals to stop processing orders from Kerala. One seller shared the message with TechnoparkToday.
“Dear Sir/Mam, Please refrain from shipping any orders to Kerala, we have got notifications from almost all partner logistics companies that the Kerala State Sales Tax Department has raised serious concerns over e-commerce shipment coming into Kerala without a State entry form.The logistics companies are in constant dialogue with the authorities to resolve the issue, we shall keep you notified on future development.”
It is a major blow to Technopark employees, who are one of the major beneficiaries of online shopping.
“We have a number of options such as discount coupons, variety of choices etc. Considering the trouble of finding a parking space in the city and several other hassles, we preferred online shopping. Now, when we give order, the site shows that our pin code is not serviceable. We suspect role of retailers in the state behind this,” said Krishna Kripal a regular online buyer from Technopark.

It is very suspicious thing, they says its a tax problem with kerala govt. but such a constrain is not there in any other state in India. Kerala is not in india or what? e-commerce websites are the best place to buy products in a very cost effective way, also the choices are also endless. no shops in kerala can serve like it. so I strongly believe that there are some fishy things happened in association with kerala merchents / shop owners with govt.
I bought some pendrives from amazon a week ago and today I got a mail from amazon telling due to some constraints packages can not be delivered. It looks like we have to throw away the congress govt. from kerala as well.

the sale tax …so that ..small shop owners are force to charge more for items,
and losing business also…moreover this the right time for some local e-commerce
site to flurries and create some job locally also.
The taxation issue is with the logistics partners like Bluedart, Fedex etc. Here in Kochi Infopark and Trissur we have Flipkart Ekart service which delivers everything purchased from flipkart.
Strange!!! this is not reported in any other state other than kerala!! this will be sorted out soon for sure!!!

Why this is only in kerala? govt should understand that people having all the rights to decide from where they wanted to purchased the things. imposing un-necessary taxation and denying the right of people to buy things cheaper than the middle-man eating market in our state. We don’t want to give our hard earned money to the greedy middlemen who is just eating all the margins. friends, boycott the local shops and protest against this barbarian policy of our tax department.
The problem is the tax department people doesn’t have any idea on how the e-commerce system works. they are still thinking it like the conventional transactions, and insisting to collect the tax also. anyway the tax is being paid by the seller in respective state. in addition to that why the hell they need to pay it where the customers shipping address?
Also there are many thing to suspect an illegal alliance between some offline retailers and the tax department. they are allowing the middlemen to loot the money of customers. how many shops in kerala is paying tax regularly? – may be a very less number of people.
This is challenging the customers – either the tax department should provide facility to collect tax without any additional burden for the customer and the seller website. else they have to exempt such stupid policy till some system came.
This is like torturing the normal buyers.

First you should know why kerala govt.restrict online purchase team.Every state have their own tax policy.ecommerce team selling items with their state taxes ,no such taxes getting to kerala govt.
For eg: for each leather goods kerala govt getting 14.5 % tax (if the item under kvat rule)

If we buy from online no taxes gettign to kerala govt.more than 11 croces of online sales happening in kerala ,just calculate with 5 % ,wats the amout ?.Our economy will down (any way its gng down only ) ,same time i just remind you to all “Kerala is a consumer state “,nothing producing here ,but we are very intersting to making scams and scandals …like saritha solar scam,rape ,abuse on girls,other plotical issues etc..mone nadu nnavanenkil evudathe youth vote cheyyaruthu…

As of now there is no any law under Kerala tax department that who to get tax through e-commerce selling. Online merchants are buying products directly either from Factory or from retailers and they are putting very less margin while selling online. Online business works in Kerala for last 5-7 years and Kerala tax department noticed this only recently.
IT was actually the vyapari vyavasayi samithi a marxist affiliated org that raised the issue,there is no difference whether it is marxist or congress ,both are united in harassing commoner.
Thats because kerala is gods own country ,you need the blessings of congress or marxist gods to survive in kerala.

A common office working man cannot now live in this keralam,….deadly road (what for aren’t we paying the fucking tax)….high bus fares….high medical expenses…high living expenses…. every consumer will buy products he/she likes and will never do(only minor exception) for the state to get taxes.Even a drunkard will be buying alcohol not to support kerala govt beverages or family working under beverages, but for him ONLY.
