Cricket Coaching Camp for Children in Trivandrum

cricket copyTechnoparkToday.com>> April 7, 2014: Zeeros Cricket Club is organizing a cricket coaching camp for children in the under – 16 age group category. The club which was formed in 1983 has roped in some of the prominent names in Kerala Cricket for the 45 days camp which will take place in Konchiravila near Manacaud from April 12.

Facilities for those taking part in the camp includes indoor nets with lighting facility and real time match experience provided by BCCI accredited professionals. Indoor nets with lighting is a novel venture for Kerala cricket and this is for the first time that something of this sort is experimented in the State by a private club. Special classes in umpiring and scoring will be also provided in the camp.

Coaching sessions will be handled by former Kerala Ranji Cricket team captain Sony K Cheruvathur. One of the best all-rounders from Kerala, he has played 36 First Class matches and captained 14 matches. RS Saranya will assist Mr. Cheruvathur in the coaching department. A prolific player in women’s cricket and a Level 1 BCCI Coach, Saranya currently plays for the Karnataka State Women’s team.

The camp will be also frequented by versatile and proven cricketers like KN Ananthapadmanabhan and VA Jagadeesh. A resident from the city, Ananthapadmanabhan is one of the best all rounders Kerala cricket has ever produced. Respected among cricketers and fans alike, he has played more than 100 first class matches, (the only cricketer from Kerala to do so) and is a Level 2 BCCI coach. VA Jagadeesh is a name that is frequently heard in the Indian cricketing circuits today. This right handed batsman has earned his way into the Indian A side through his finesse in the game. Today, he is one of the best technically sound batsmen in India.

Sunandh TS Raj, Master of Physical Education from Kannur University will oversee the physical training sessions. Mr. Sunandh is a guest trainer for several national schools.

This is for the first time that a cricket coaching camp in Thiruvananthapuram will impart such an extensive array of playing and technical knowledge to children.

Participation is limited. So make sure that you are there at the right place for expanding your knowledge in the game and for getting some firsthand experience from some hardcore professionals.
