Toonz Animation was established in 1999, at Technopark, Trivandrum, by their Geneva-based promoters. Technopark was at that time one of the best incubation units for the IT and ITeS sectors in India.

Later, in 2006, they undertook major restructuring to put under one umbrella their varied interests in the areas of animation, media education, licensing and merchandising, digital and gaming ventures and also media-related infrastructure development.
