Tony M. Abraham won the men’s singles

Tony M. Abraham won the men’s singles title in the Trivandrum District badminton championships which concluded at the Technopark Club courts here on Sunday.

In the final, Tony withstood a spirited challenge from P.Suresh Kumar before winning 20-22, 21-17, 22-20. Malavika Mathen won the women’s singles title after scoring an easy 21-11, 21-12 win over Neethu Ninan in the final.

This was Malavika’s fourth title in the championship. She had earlier won the singles titles in under-19 and under-16 categories respectively. Malavika also won the under-16 doubles title along with R.Divya.

Mervin Alexander the CEO of Technopark gave away the prizes to the winners.
