Kerala Police addresses issues faced by Techies near Technopark Campus

On 6th April 2016, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shri Siva Vikram IPS, called in for a meeting with techies to understand and identify a solution for the security issues faced by Technopark Employees. The discussion was held at Malabar Hall, Park Center, Technopark @ 3.00 PM.

Techies from different companies came forward and shared the issues faced by their employees in and around Technopark. Most of them highlighted the high charges demanded by Auto drivers near Kazhakootam. Also the issues created by them while boarding taxi/cab was also discussed.

Moreover the roads near back gate, NILA California road, narrow street @ the front gate(on the way to railway station) are not safe for ladies to use after 8 PM. Anti socialists stay there and give offensive comments or try to touch. Similar instances have been reported in the pathway connecting phase III. Moreover the need of having a traffic signal at Kazhakootam junction was put forward.

Shri Siva Vikram assured complete guidance towards techie community. A dedicated Whatsapp group will be created soon adding DCP, Assistant Commissioner, nearest police station SI’s, and techies. Employees, facing any kind of security issue are requested to share the details in the group. So that police can take an immediate action.

More over, the Police patrolling will be increased especially during night. Techies can escalate issues with prepaid auto counter to the near by Police aid post at the Technopark main gate. Immediately a meeting will be called for the auto drivers and if needed an awareness class will be provided to stop the above said issues.

Kerala Police plans to have a dedicated helpdesk within Kazhakootam Station exclusively for Technopark employees.

DCP shared the importance of wearing Helmets while riding two wheelers and requsted everyone to avoid speeding or rash driving on roads. Ramnath (CEO, Technopark), Subash (Cyberdome), Abilash (Manager, Technopark), Anil Kumar (Asst Commissioner), Acharya Ratina Jayasanal (SI, Thumba), Sunil (SI, Kazhakootam) were part of the discussion.
