Employees’ Mind Power Wins: Trade Union Issue

TechnoparkToday.Com>>There are several instances of head load workers demanding heavy charges for loading-unloading activities. One of the recent such issue held at Technopark is inspiring as well as thought provoking.  The whole team of employees, led by their manager, manually shifted the furniture when the head load workers demanded seven times higher service charge.

An employee of Technopark-based Digital Brand Group narrates his experience.

“Yesterday, we faced an issue with the Loading/Unloading workers inside Technopark. We received 2 loads of furniture’s for our new office. We approached the trade union team for the loading service, and their rate was shocking. They demanded Rs 70,000 for carrying it to our office space in the same floor. (Actual rate should be something below Rs 10,000.) During this negotiation, they have unloaded it on the passage of Thejaswini building and the security staff instructed us to shift the parcels immediately as it would block the passage. The trade union team was not at all ready for any adjustment as they warned they will go back if they didn’t get the demanded amount by leaving the parcels boxes in road. Failed to persuade them, our manager, at last, decided to take the parcels himself. Seeing this, our entire team instantly gave him the support. When we started it, the trade union members treated it as a joke and they were making funny comments like computer engineers could never have caliber to do their work.

But we did not wait for any other discussions and continued the shifting with the support of all the DBG team members. We finished it within 2 hours and made the Trade Union guys ashamed of their deed. We are not against to them, but I just want everyone to be strong enough to question them when they try to loot us like this. It isn’t required for everyone to agree with their demands.”
