CIMAT Ties Up with Technopark Company

The Co-operative Institute of Management and Technology (CIMAT) is all set to start a premium, advanced training in Integrated IT and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) that will give students exposure to a wide range of IT skills and also offer a complete GIS curriculum as standard for all modules.

CIMAT has already tied up with Technopark Trivandrum-based Geotrans Technologies Ltd., a GIS company, for the course curriculum, faculty, and software. The idea of the joint venture is to bring in the best of facilities, faculties, and course materials on to one platform and offer the students an unmatched package.

This is supposed to be the first of its kind integrated programme in Kerala that will give students exposure to a wide range of IT skills and also offer a complete GIS curriculum as standard for all modules.

The programme will be open for admission from Monday, October 1, 2011.  MCA, engineering, and science graduates can apply for admission to the programme. The first batch will have twenty-five students.

A geographic information system (GIS) integrates hardware, software, and data for capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms oSf geographically referenced information.

GIS allows viewing, understanding, questioning, interpreting, and visualizing data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts.
