CDAC’s TecX13 Drawing Crowd in Technopark

Technology Exhibition in CDAC Technopark Trivandrum

 

TechnoparkToday.com>> May 9, 2013:  Thousands of Techies and Technology enthusiasts visited TecX 13, the technology exposition organized by CDAC, in Technopark campus.   The 3-day event will conclude on May 10, 2013.

The technology expo has more than 70 products in various domains such as power electronics, advanced wireless communication, control systems, health informatics, Cyber Forensics, Language Technology, Hardware design, intelligent transportation and strategic electronics. Dial 100 system for Police, Distress Call System for women and children, Wireless Traffic Signal Controller, E-Parking system, OncoNet – Cancer care for Rural Mass, mCare – Mobilephone based Public Health Information System, English to Malayalam Translation System, Mozhy – Malayalam text to speech system, Handwriting recognition system for Malayalam, Next Generation Control System, CyberCheck Suite for Cyber crime investigation, MobileCheck for mobile crime investigation, Darpan – network monitoring tool, iProspect – training facility for special education are some of the products exhibited.

N T Nair, Chief Editor and Publisher of Executive Knowledge Lines today launched Varthamozhy – a voice enabled news reader for Malayalam at the C-DAC organized seminar as part TecX13. The seminar on Technology Trends and Directions for Future had eminent speakers emphasizing that future of technology will be customer oriented and that most of the successful innovative R&D efforts will be disruptive in nature and that companies should forecast technology and innovate to survive. Dr. M P Sebastian, Professor for IT at IIM-K; Dr. Achuthsankar S Nair, Head of Dept – Bioinformatics, University of Kerala, Mr. K Purushothaman, Sr. Director – NASSCOM and Mr. N T Nair, were some of the eminent speakers at the seminar.

A medical camp was also conducted at Technopark campus in which CDAC’s Mobile Telemedicine Units Sanjeevani and Sunayana were used. Sanjeevani is a mobile unit which houses most of the equipment for detection of life style diseases and cervical cancer. Sunayana is advanced eye care unit which detects glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Doctors from Malabar Cancer Society Kannur and Govt Eye Hospital Trivandrum participated in the camp.

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is a premier R&D organization of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT) for carrying out R&D in IT, Electronics and associated areas.
