Algerian–German guitarist and composer Djamel Laroussi is touring India for the first time and will open his tour with a special live performance at the Amphitheatre, Technopark.
Internationally acclaimed for his distinctive left-handed playing on a right-handed guitar, Djamel Laroussi is known for a prolific repertoire that moves effortlessly across genres and languages. His Technopark concert promises a truly global soundscape, created alongside an ensemble of accomplished musicians from five different nationalities.
The evening’s music will blend jazz, Indian pop, classical, folk, Bossa nova, and more, coming together in a richly layered performance. Adding a unique local dimension, the concert will feature an improvised jam with Kerala folk band Earthlore by ARPO, bringing indigenous rhythms into conversation with global melodies.
The 2.5-hour performance is scheduled to begin after the techie bands conclude their competitions at the Tech-a-Break youth festival, offering audiences a seamless transition from campus energy to an immersive world-music experience.
The concert is a joint production by London-based Advaitha Events and Takadimi band from Auckland.
