Police put Responsibility of Cab Safety on Technopark Companies

TechnoparkToday.com>> In light of the Delhi Uber cab rape case, most of the Indian Cities started keeping an eye on cab services, but there is no system in Technopark to check on cab services.

According to Rajpal Meena, Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP, cab services in Technopark are hired by the companies itself and it is their responsibility to verify the whereabouts of the drivers.

“There had been no complaints or incidents of harassment by cab drivers in Technopark where several women employees depended on these services, even at odd hours,” SP said to media.

Rural police had collected details of most of the autorickshaw drivers including the prepaid autos operating from Kazhakuttam. City police already started efforts to to collect details of most of the taxi drivers in the city.

“Even though no such incidents happen here, the women are really scary about travelling in odd hours after the recent incidents.  Our company always ensures that we are not travelling alone in the cab.  But it is very important that companies should check the background history of cab drivers,”  Jisha, a technopark employee told to Technoparktoday.com.
