SMS Helpline Service for Women in Distress

>>The State Women’s Commission launched a 24 x 7 SMS facility for women across the state for assistance in emergency.

A text message sent to 537252, ‘I am in danger’ or ‘Help’ or even a blank message will be registered and assistance will be provided immediately.   The SMS facility can be used in distress situation and for registering complaints with the commission, to know the status of a complaint, and to access information regarding the services rendered by the commission.

The facility will be rendered free-of-cost to the commission by the National Informatics Centre.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy launched the service on October 11.
