Thampanoor Bus Terminal by September

The new KSRTC bus terminal at Thampanoor will be commissioned in September, said Transport Minister VS Sivakumar.

The Minister said that he had asked the officials to speed up the work on the project.  Thiruvananthapuram will witness a surge in development once the monorail project too becomes a reality.  A facility linking the bus terminal, monorail, and Railway station will benefit commuters hugely, he said.

Apart from the bus terminal, the spot will also host a 12-storied commercial complex, of which three will be for shopping and 9 as office space. One will be in the basement. As many as 145 cars and 250 two-wheelers can be parked in the basement alone. In addition, the basement will have commercial area, central lobby, elevators, atrium, and toilets. There will be four semicircular concourses and 29 bays.
