Flipmedia, Technopark fired employees?

It is reported that, FlipMedia Pvt Ltd, a technopark based company fired some of their employees recently. They gave pink slips to 10 around 10 out of 40 employees.but there are some arguments are going on from the side of company officials.

In a popular forum, one of them said like “We are never happy to fire any one. I agree in past few months we fired a few purely based on performance and poor learning. All of them had plenty of time to improve their skills and they never tried. Usually the company is at the receiving end from the client when a programmer makes repeated mistakes.I don’t wish to start an argument here, but if you insist give me your friends name I will give you the reasons why he/she got fired.”

But this is not a good idea to share the names in public, but this statement proves that, they fired because of the performance issues, not because of the ongoing recession or economic crisis.

“All the companies are aware of the current economic situation and they have to take proper steps. Flip media is no different from those companies. Even though we fired few in the same time we even hired few programmers” – He Added.

See, the competetion is getting more tougher, to be proven as the best. Companies are making use of this situation to sack poor performers. It is good for the industry, but not a good news for the less competent individuals or the freshers.

  1. If your hired employees are not performing well, the person who hired needs to be fired first

Well, one cannot evaluate a person fully just with interview. But it is possible to analyse atleat 50% by body language. But only a few interviewers have this ability.

One really bad trend in recruiting is ‘hire when a new project comes’ and ‘fire when it is finished’.

  3. yes praveen, that trend is increasing now a days. but in that case the company should inform the employee about the risk. If you need an employee for just one project, you can hire a consultant than a employee. but you needs to pay more to consultants.

among the employers and employees, there is less moral and ethics now a days. employers are looking for low cost resources to complete the project, and kick them out after making the profit. also the employees are also bargaining a lot, to get maximum payment.

this is not the problem of any of them. both of them are trying to make maximum profit out of a fixed budget. sometimes both of them will win, but sometimes, they all will loose.
