Kerala startups turn their gaze to YC funding, thanks to KSUM’s efforts

Seeking to scale up funding opportunities for early-stage start-ups,the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has stepped in by organising mentorship programs to equip early-stage startups to gain the summer 2023 funding cycle programme of US-based Y Combinator (YC), the world’s most-desired dream accelerator programme of startups.

KSUM has conducted online workshops for startups to make them equip withall resources to take part in the three-month global programme of YC, slated to be held from June to August 2023. 

YC, which fulfils funding requirements of early-stage startups, is a community of over 9,000 founders and more than 3,500 startups have been funded by the community since 2005. 

YC will provide mentoring and investor connect under the programme and they will invest around $500,000 in startups. The programme also ensures opportunities for start-ups to get venture capital (VC) firms. At the end of the three-month programme, a demo day will be conducted for selected start-ups. So far, eight startups from Kerala have been selected to the various editions of the programme.
