Technopark TBI to help Oman to Setup Incubation Centre

Technopark-Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and Caledonian College of Engineering (CCE), a University College in Oman has signed a Memorandum of Understanding which has its objectives to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem for Oman. As part of this the TBI will provide technical assistance and guidance to establish, develop and promote a center for creativity and innovation at Caledonian college in Sultanate of Oman. This joint initiative between Technopark TBI and Caledonian College will result in Oman’s first Centre for Creativity and Innovation.

The MoU to this effect was signed by Dr. K C Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO-Technopark and Secretary & Registrar, Technopark TBI and Prof. K P Ramachandran, Associate Dean, Caledonian College in the presence of Ms. Annie Moses, Administrative Officer- T-TBI, Ms. Surya Thankom and Mr. Sreejith.S, Technical Officers of T-TBI. CCE is the leading private higher education institution providing high quality technological education for the Sultanate of Oman and the region in general. The arrangement will also enable CCE to collaborate with Technopark TBI based companies to establish business network and connections in Oman.

T-TBI will arrange Training for professional development relevant to innovation and entrepreneurship in Caledonian College for its faculty and students. According to the MOU Technopark-TBI and CCE will offer training, special short courses and consultancy services to the Industries and Commerce Ministry in Oman for establishing an innovation center.

“Over the past few years there has been gradual increase in the technological developments in our country, and we intent to take advantage of this growth. We wish to also teach innovation to our students and would want the industry professionals to be able to get help from the Incubation Center that we plan to build with the help of Technopark TBI ”, Prof K P Ramachandran said.

Adding to this he said “We choose Technopark TBI, Kerala because as two different countries we share a similar culture and values , The Govt of Oman will provide it’s full support and cooperation to this incubation project to come into existence “.

Girish Babu, CEO Technopark said “Technopark-TBI has established itself as a center of excellence in nurturing incubates and the fact that other countries are seeking our support is a testimony on the ripples our incubator has created across the globe.”

‘We will be sending our representatives to Oman in the month of September to understand and undermine possible ways and help which we can provide to the country for setting up their center.
