Prakruthi to Promote Green Living among Techies -Join Now

TechnoparkToday.com>>Technopark, one of the greenest IT parks, is witnessing more environment friendly initiatives. Prakruthi – a voluntary group of Techies, under the aegis of the Centre for Innovation in Science & Social Action (CISSA), NATANA, Tejus and Technopark, which aims to promote green and healthy living among Technopark employees, is all set to take off.  The vision of the group is to ’empower people to adopt a healthy living and to promote a sustainable co-existence with nature.’

The rationale of our existence has stemmed from the fact that Technopark crowd forms one of the largest consumers of ‘Fast Food’ in the State and also tops the ‘Life-style diseases’ chart in Kerala. In this backdrop, it is all the more imperative to educate our fellow Technoparkians on the ill-effects of an unhealthy lifestyle and empower them to live a greener, healthy life, in harmony with the nature, organizers told to Technoparktoday.com.

The following broad activities have been envisaged under the group –

(a) Promote ‘Green Food’ (b) Encourage ‘Organic Farming’ (c) Propagate ‘Green Living’  (d) Support ‘Green Ideas’  (e) Propagate ‘Recycling’ & ‘Waste Management’

“We plan to kick-start our Phase.1 activities from June 2015 onwards with a launch program in Technopark, which would include setting up of kiosks that would familiarize Technopark employees with the tips and techniques of organic farming, distribution of high quality seeds and saplings, sale of organic produce etc.  There will be periodical training programs for Technopark employees with hands-on sessions on Organic Farming, Farm Visits and various awareness sessions. We have tie ups with voluntary organizations including CISSA, Horticorp, Kerala Agriculture University etc. under whose aegis we will be conducting such sessions,” they said.
