Technocity Master Plan Ready

>>Technocity, a landmark in the making in the Indian IT scenario of Kerala is ready with the master plan for takeoff, which will offer state-of-art infrastructure facilities for intending investors. The picturesque technopolis in the 450 acres of land Pallippuram area of Trivandrum district  when fully commissioned will be an integrated IT township,encompassing IT/ITes infrastructure, residential apartments, shopping malls with multiplexes, hospitals, hotels, Educational institutions , and other support facilities.

Technocity will have up to 30 million square feet built up space with multiple buildings for its tenant organizations. The estimated investment would be around Rs 5000 crores. The city would focus on areas other than ITsuch as biotechnology, nanotechnology, high-end manufacturing and Research and Development. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, (TCS) would be setting up their Global Learning Academy with an investment of around Rs. 1,500 crores in the 82 acres of land already allotted to them. This Academy which will be one of the largest in Asia will be able to train and accommodate 16,000 IT professionals at a time, Infosys, who already have a 50 acres Special Economic Zone in Technopark Phase II, will set up its second campus in 50 acres at Technocity.  Technopark would be developing a 50 acre campus for companies who want to set up their IT/ITES Units in the Technocity campus.

SunTec Business Solutions also plans to be set up its campus in the 10 acres of land allotted to them. Other major IT Companies will also be setting up their offices besides important educational and research institutes like The Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management –Kerala (IIITM-K). Asian school of Business which has its campus at Technopark1st phase is in the process of setting up their campus in the 10 acres of land in Technocity.  Technopark has already become the single largest employment provider in Kerala.  Technopark has nearly 270 companies providing direct employment to more than 37,000 highly paid IT/ITES professionals and 150,000 people indirectly.

“We have been getting enquiries pouring in from across the world seeking information on investment potential and possibilities, we are hopeful that this dream project would be completed and Kerala would possibly become the epi-center for IT industry in the coming years.Technocity planned model will also be showcased during the Emerging Kerala event in September and Gitex held in October respectively” said K G Girish Babu, CEO Technopark
