The Open Innovation Space is a joint initiative of Technopark-TBI and RIW (Rajdhani Technologies- Istrian Technologies- Waybeo Ventures).

open ispacelogo“The TBI mooted the project due to insufficient space for start-ups. Out of the 190-odd start-ups, around 40 firms share virtual space at the TBI. Now we have over a thousand applications pending for allotment of space. By setting up the Open Innovation Space, we hope to provide them with a real facility to work from,” said Technopark TBI Managing Director Dr K C Chandrasekharan Nair.

The “OpeniSpace” huts will also offer 50 free email IDs, software licenses, virtual work spaces, servers, cloud infrastructure and other hardware requirements for start-ups at a minimum monthly cost. Concepts like Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), Platform As A Service (PAAS) and Software As A Service (SAAS) will also be promoted. In addition, the park will provide Data Farm, which provides data storage facility to companies operating in the campus at a much lower cost with support from HP Cloud services and IBM BlueMix for which the T-TBI has already signed MoUs.
