Support Baiju Dharmajan To Play Crossroads

Baiju Dharmajan

Baiju Dharmajan – One of Asia’s finest musician and guitarist, Baiju Dharmajan is widely known for infusing eastern and south Indian melodies seamlessly with progressive rock.

Born in Vypin Islands (near Cochin, India) to Thankamani and Dharmajan, Baiju Dharmajan started his musical career in 1980 at an early age of 14. He began with the carnatic violin but then slowly shifted to the guitar. His father used to play the Hawaiian guitar and his grandfather was a Carnatic musician. He used to play the guitar in a travelling troop of musicians from an early age and has had the honour of playing with the legendary Malayalam singer Yesudas. Baiju is also a big fan of Illayaraja and loves the compositions of other Indian composers like Raveendran, Devarajan, Noushad and R.D. Burman. His father had a vast collection of Ghazals by Mehdi Hassan, Anup Jalota, and Pankaj Udhas. He grew up listening to Malayalam,Tamil and Hindi film music.

Baiju is now participating for playcrossroads competition – a unique opportunity to play live at Eric Clapton’s guitar festival 2013 at NYC. As a unique talent from India, we, technoparktoday request everyone to support him to achieve it by voting him.
