In an effort to create awareness among techies on security matters, a one-day programme on security and related issues was organized at the Tecnopark on Monday.
Chief Security Officer of Kochi Refineries T.V. Sasikumar spoke at the programme which was attended by Chief Executive Officers and other senior officials of various companies.
Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander, who also attended the programme, said that a security committee would be formed at the Technopark to sort out various concerns on the campus relating to security and other issues

In a very unfortunate event, a young software engineer working in Technopark succumbed to the H1N1 virus infection on Oct 27. Companies in Asia are set to offer bigger pay rises next year as the region continues to rebound from global recession, notably in India where base salary levels are poised to jump nearly 10 percent, a survey showed on Wednesday.
Salaries in Indonesia and China will also surge, by 8.7 percent and 6.7 percent respectively, whereas workers in Japan can expect a paltry 2.1 percent pay rise, according to the survey by Hewitt Associates. …

Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Monday said the government would look for “other options” if Smart City Dubai, the developer of the proposed Rs.1,500-crore ($300 million) IT project, did not resolve its differences with the state and start construction soon.“The government is committed to the project and if they (Smart City Dubai) don’t solve the issues then we will look for other options,” Balakrishnan said while speaking at an election campaign near here.

The new power tariff will in all probability come into effect in the State only by December this year.
The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission has completed the formalities needed for revising the tariff, including the conduct of three separate public hearings in Trivandrum, Kochi and Kozhikode.
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) had submitted the clarifications sought by the Commission. Meetings were also held with licencees such as the Cochin Port Trust and the Technopark.

The tip off came to the Technopark Yesterday,from the Intelligence Bureau(IB). There were some security arrangements right from the morning at the Technopark gates, but everyone thought it might be for some VIP visit.
But later in the evening news came that a bomb was placed at Bhavani which houses the development centers of IT majors like Infosys, UST Global and Allianz Cornhill.
