TechnoparkToday.Com:Â Kerala Emergency Medical Project (KEMP) that is managing the 108 Ambulance Service in Trivandrum and Alleppey conducted an Emergency Medical Care training on March 15-16, 2013, for Medical Officers and Nurses from various government hospitals in Trivandrum at the KEMP office in Technopark. Â A team led by Dr. Ajai Desai from Life Supporters Institutions of Health Sciences (LIHS), Mumbai trained the participants in Emergency Medical Care.
About 30 Medical Officers and 30 Staff Nurses participated in the two day sessions in two batches. Hands on training with lecture sessions were conducted. Dr. P K Jameela, Director of Health Services inaugurated the session the first day and Dr. Prabhachandran Nair, Additional Director Health Services inaugurated the session today. Dr. Rajeevan, Assistant Director of Health Services, Dr. Rajmohan, Director, Clinical Epidemiology Resource & Training Centre (CERTC), Trivandrum; Rajeev Shekhar – KEMP coordinator and Radheesh V – South Indian Regional Head, Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd were also present for the sessions.
“The quality of the training was of high nature and shall prove to be helpful in building capacity of the participants.  KEMP has provided excellent facility and delightful ambiance for the program.  More such training needs to be conducted. All the participants expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the training.†Said, Dr Rajeevan.
“We took the participants through various topics of treating emergency situations in basic life support and cardiac life support. The sessions were very interactive and we got some very good inputs from the participants. The success of these sessions has prompted us to extend such trainings to the government hospitals in the Alleppey district as well where we are running the 108 ambulance service.†Said Radheesh V, South India Regional Head, ZHL.
