PAINTANA – Painting Exhibition in Trivandrum

Russian Cultural centre presents Six day Exhibition of paintings “PAINTANA” by Artist Kanakasanan & Sculptures by Aryanad Rajendran at Roerich Art Gallery (Russian Cultural Centre) Bakery junction, Trivandrum from 12th – 17th May 2012.

Exhibition was inaugurated by Artist Prof Kattoor Narayana Pillai (Vice Chairman Kerala Lalithakala Academy) on 12th May at 11am.

PaintANA, a selected paintings of elephants by Artist Kanakasanan. The repeated images of elephants catch the attention of the onlooker. “As a self learn artist, i did paintings of elephants on wooden artifacts for an antique shop in Trivandrum. They passed them off as antique pieces, but it fetched enough pocket money during his college days. The striving to perfect the shape of elephants caught on from that time and continues to this day,” Artist Kanakasanan says. Along with this Aryanad Rajendran is presenting his collection of garden sculptures
