Vidyarambham or Ezhuthiniruthu is the tradition observed on Vijaya Dashami day in Kerala during the nine-day festival, Durga Navaratri Pooja . In 2011, the auspiscious day of Vidyarambham falss on Thursday, October 6th.

Vidhyarambham (initiation into learning) is a very unique celebration in Kerala, wherein books are kept for pooja and children are initiated into learning.
