Dubai, October 15, 2012 â€“ Honâ€™ble Minister of Human Resource Development, Communications and IT, Mr. Kapil Sibal graced the inaugural ceremony of the Kerala IT pavilion at Gitex Technology Week 2012. He was accompanied by Indian Ambassador to UAE, His Excellency Mr. M K Lokesh. The Kerala IT Pavilion was declared open by Consul General of India in UAE Mr. Sanjay Verma.
Gitex Technology Week 2012 is being held at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre until October 18, 2012. Kerala IT Team is led by Mr. P H Kurian IAS, Principal Secretary â€“ IT, Govt of Kerala and is accompanied by Technopark CEO, Mr. Girish Babu, Mr Vijayakumar, Special Secretary to Minister P K Kunhalikutty; Mr M Vasudevan, Senior Business Development Manager Technopark and representatives of IT companies from Technopark and Infopark.
The Kerala IT Stall that is 54 sq.metre of size is strategically located between the Indian, US and Chinese Pavilions at the event.Â Green is the message the pavilion. â€œGreen represents the greenery Kerala is so synonymous with and above all we want to pass on the message that we are a green state and blend our each and every project with the environment and nature to create a harmony not just at work but also in each individualâ€™s life.â€ Said Technopark CEO, Girish Babu commenting on the theme of the pavilion.
Over the next few days, the state will showcase the IT parks in the state, including Technocity, Kollam Technopark and Infopark Cherthala, Kinfra High Tech Park along with various other investment opportunities in the IT sector across Kerala. They will also hold discussion with delegations and senior officials from government and IT companies of the other countries as well. Kerala IT has been participating in Gitex in the past and through this event set up a platform to showcase the investment opportunities in the State to the Middle East market. Over the years Kerala IT has been benefited by its participation in this event with lot of Middle East companies investing into the State and also SMEs from Kerala getting opportunity to set shop in the ME market.
