Joemon’s curio world: Waste materials get a beautiful makeover

TechnoparkToday.com>> When Technopark-employee Joemon Godson found it hard to dispose bottles in his house, he turned it into beautiful decorative items.  Joemon started making wine bottles, wine glasses, pen stands and decorative bottles using used bottles, coir and bamboo as a hobby.

When he started making curios using bamboos and coconut shells, little did he realized that it could be so popular. His products evoked good response when he started posting pictures in online forums.

Joemon said that initially he started selling the items to his interested friends. Later they started buying Joemon’s products as gifts, souvenirs etc. When he posted pictures in techies’ online marketplace www.tpbazaar.com, it started selling like hotcakes.

The making video of a mobile phone stand posted by Joemon is an instant hit in his facebook page. The mobile stand is made of bamboo and coir. The specialty is that it is not just a mobile stand, it also act as an acoustic amplifier.

Joemon strictly avoids use of any plastic materials for his products. He uses only reusable and environment friendly materials. He sources raw materials for his products from his immediate environments and ensures that no non-biodegradable waste is generated.
