Infosys introduces onsite rotation policy

TechnoparkToday.com(oct,2013) > Infosys introduced Onsite rotation policy – means the duration of 18 months ( 1.5 years ) that employees can stay in onsite locations / client sites. It results more employees will get onsite opportunities.

IT Giants like TCS Introduced onsite rotation policy in 2010, and Wipro introduced in 2011 – and the duration is 24 Months. Onsite assignments are one of the biggest perk for IT employees, and everyone wanted to go to USA/UK as part of their assignment – one of the biggest wish for most of the people in IT. But what happen right now, is if someone go to onsite they are continuing there till the visa expires – H1B visa holders can extend their stay up-to 6 years – and it results less onsite opportunity for others working in the same project – results employee dissatisfaction and attrition.

“This is a very good news, because we have four members within our team with H1B visas – but not getting an onsite opportunity, since two members are in onsite for the last 4 years. such policies will ensure that everyone will get a chance to go onsite – and that is important for both company and employees “– Said Hari Parasad, an IT engineer holding H1B visa for the last 1.5 years.

“This is a good decision indeed. I think every company should follow the same. give equal opportunity to everyone. but such policy may result more financial overhead to the companies – in visa processing and shifting of employees from onsite – offshore and vice versa.” – Said Manoj KR, HR Professional, from Technopark.
