Beware – Oreo Cookies Are As Addictive As Cocaine or Morphine!

TechnoparkToday.com -  Your kids are addictive to Oreo Cookies? and now think twice before buying it anymore. In a recent, researchers at Connecticut College have found that rats’ behavior toward Oreo cookies is not unlike their behavior toward cocaine and morphine.

“Our research supports the theory that high-fat/high-sugar foods stimulate the brain in the same way that drugs do,” Schroeder said. “It may explain why some people can’t resist these foods despite the fact that they know they are bad for them.

Schroeder and his team found that lab rats formed an “equally strong association” between the pleasure of eating an Oreo cookie and being in the same environment as cocaine or morphine. Research showed eating Oreos activated more neurons in the brain’s “pleasure center” than being exposed to drugs.

So, next time you buy oreo to your loved ones, you are buying them an addiction similar to drugs like cocaine or morphine. Sure Oreos are still delicious but do you think they’re addictive?

Oreo is availble in several countries and has been selling in europe and USA since years. It has been selling in countries with much more stringent and advanced food safety control practices than in our country. 100s of such unsubstantiated research reports come out all the time even linking brain tumor to cell phone usage. Over indulgence in any packed food can be a bad habbity. But dont overreact based on this so called “reasearch”. Before deciding on going against a product. Try to find out what really was the research about and what was the methodology. Media always publish half baked news to stirr popularity.
