AMTECH recovers its hacked website through Mirox Cyber Security & Technology – Technopark

>>A leading Multimedia Animation Company “Advanced Media Technology (AMTECH) corporate website was hacked by Pakistan Hunter’s, a Pakistan based hacking group. The website of the company was defaced and a complete control was taken up by the hackers.  In order to resolve the issue the company assigned this task to “Mirox Cyber Security, which is one of the leading reputed company inside Technopark Kerala campus which specializes in cyber security domain.

The recovery process initiated by the cyber security firm included a cyber-forensic investigation and conducted VAPT (Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration testing) to avoid this incident to repeat against security threats.  VAPT is an independent testing and certification of the IT vulnerability Management system which makes it convenient to run tests over the Internet anywhere, anytime. It is a hybrid solution which blends automated testing with security expert analysis. We identified various loopholes and vulnerabilities which were inside the website servers by which the hackers was able to easily hack this website, we also found out the presence of “backdoors which is a mechanism that allows the hackers to regain complete control over the website where ever and whenever they wanted inside the hosting server.”

Additionally he also said “We would like to urge all the companies & organization to do a thorough security assessment and perform periodic VAPT on the webserver before & after hosting the company’s website or any applications on any hosting server”.

The Mirox Team drafted a VAPT report on this issue, and the same will be send to CERT-IN , Kerala police cyber cell and to the Kerala state IT Secretary.
