Goal ‘09 - Soccer fever grips Technopark

Goal ’09, a football tournament involving Technopark-based IT companies, will be held at the LNCPE ground, Karivattom from June 27 to July 18.

Sixteen teams will take part in the tournament which is being sponsored by UST Global. The league matches will be held on June 27, 28 and July 4.

The quarterfinals will be played on July 11 and the semifinals on July 12. The final will be played on July 18.

Accentia, Visual Graphics, RM, NeST, M Squared, PIT Solutions, Toonz, RR Donnelley, Infy, IITMK, Speridian, IBS, Toroid and UST Global are some of the teams taking part in the tournament

The tourney will bring together the best football talents from the Technopark, which has over 22,000 people working in 125 IT and ITES Companies.

The trophy will be unveiled at the Bhavani Atrium, in the presence of all the competing teams on June 25 by K.Ramachandran, deputy general manager (personnel and administration), Technopark; Technopark Business Development senior manager and UST Global Human Resources head Niketh Sundar.

The League rounds will be held on June 27, 28 and July 4.

The quarter finals will open on July 11. Goal ‘09 semi-finals will be held on July 12, and the finals on July 18.

‘’Goal ‘09’ aims beyond the match to represent the winning spirit of the Technopark community,’’ says Alexander Varghese, India Centre head, UST Global.

‘’For us at UST Global, it is a privilege to play host to the event. It is an opportunity to bring together the best within the Technopark Community,’’ he said.
