Kerala is no more a favourable destination for IT companies, according to V K Mathews, Chairman & CEO of IBS Software, one of the leading IT companies based at Technopark here, which provides technology solutions for travel, transportation and logistics to more than 100 companies across the globe.

If the current downturn finally hits the state’s information technology (IT) companies, the Kerala government should offer sops to help them cut operational costs, chiefs of top IT companies told Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan in a meeting here Thursday in Mascot Hotel Trivandrum.
‘As things stand now, things are fine here, but if the slowdown hits them, the state government should give them sops like decrease in technology park lease rentals and electricity charges so that they can go ahead without problems,’ Achuthanandan told reporters after the meeting.

The most creative animation centre in India, Technopark based Toonz Animation and Chandamama India Limited have decided to join hands in producing a full-length animated feature film based on Chandamama stories.
Toonz will undertake the entire production at its state-of-the-art studio in Technopark and will finance the production cost, estimated at Rs.20 crore.

Artin Dynamics, a start up based in Technopark here, is launching a product it claims will help users reduce electric power consumed by electronic devices such as computers.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Nelvin Joseph, CEO, Artin Dynamics, said that the product, called Spara, would help users save energy by almost eliminating “phantom power”.
Phantom power, also called standby power, is the electricity consumed by an electronic device when it is in the standby mode or when it is switched off but plugged in, he explained.
